Bill Clinton Says He Never Apologized to Monica Lewinsky in Person

Asked if he owed Lewinsky an apology, Clinton during an appearence on NBC News' Today show said: "No, I do not - I have never talked to her".

The former US president says he "got hot under the collar" during an interview on the "Today" show Monday with correspondent Craig Melvin, who brought up the controversial affair. One of the most infamous cases that highlights the need for these conversations is the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal-etched forever in our country's history with the phrase "I did not have sexual relations with that woman". "The apology was public", said Clinton. The apology was public'. She's been covering this story. And I bet you don't even know them. "Someone should ask you these questions because of the way you formulate these questions". During the interview he emphasized that he wouldn't have changed his decision in light of the anti-harassment movement, #MeToo, which he defended and called "way overdue".

Yes, it's great that he has supported women in many ways during his political career, but that doesn't absolve him from bad behavior, especially as it relates to Lewinsky.

FLAHERTY: He was. You know, I didn't hear anything that surprised me or that I thought was new. "I (almost) have no words", Mr. Trump Jr. tweeted nearly 3 million followers.

"Any "abuse" came in the aftermath, when I was made a scapegoat in order to protect his powerful position." she told Vanity Fair in 2014.

FLAHERTY: None whatsoever. At least, that was my take of it.

Clinton also maintained that in the aftermath of the high-profile sexual misconduct allegations that toppled Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, his scandal wouldn't have transpired differently in 2018, "because people would be using the facts instead of the imagined facts. All he needed to say in the interview is 'I am profoundly and deeply sorry'". "Because of that interview, I don't think he's campaigning anywhere ever again unless he can clean it up and fix it pretty quickly".

Clinton also attempted to steer the criticism he is now facing to U.S. President Donald Trump. Do you believe President Johnson should have resigned?

Former US President, Bill Clinton has said that the American press treated Barack Obama, who was president from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017, differently from other presidents. Let's play a quick cut of tape.

"I apologized to everybody in the world", Clinton added. "I still have some questions about some of the decisions that have been made". Was he specific at all there?
