US Open Champion Lucas Glover's Wife Arrested for Domestic Violence

While she was en route for the jail, she allegedly threatened the arresting officers saying, "This is why cops get shot in the face".

Glover addressed the incident on Twitter, writing that there had been an altercation but "everyone is fine".

And since he had a bad day live on national television alongside the likes of Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose, she allegedly went off on him when he got home.

The attack was in front of their two underage children and Lucas' mother, according to deputies. Glover was a participant in the annual tournament. He was listed as MDF and did not play in the final round Sunday. She also told the deputy that she had been hit in the chest. In addition to the 2009 U.S. Open Championship, Glover won the 2005 Funai Classic at the Walt Disney World resort and the 2011 Wells Fargo Championship. Krista and Lucas have two children together - a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son. Neither Lucas or his mother required attention from paramedics.

"She's trying to blame it on my mother which is not the case at all", Lucas said ... Krista says: "I've been attacked by my mother-in law".

The official police report also notes that she verbally abused the police with threatening language.

When Glover's 62-year-old mother intervened, his wife "redirected her anger and the altercation" from him to her.

Deputies responded to the scene and handcuffed Krista.

Glover was previously married to high school sweetheart Jennifer Smith.

Once Glover was in the auto, the report says she "began screaming while forcefully kicking the rear driver's side door ... causing the door to visibly separate from the cell of the door frame". She allegedly stiffened up her body and wrapped her legs around the door to make the task hard. Once inside, she damaged the squad vehicle by "forcefully kicking it".

The couple, who Wednesday in November 2012 and share two young children, became involved in a verbal altercation after Lucas, 38, shot a 78 in the third round of the tournament.

The suspect's abusive behavior allegedly continued as officers attempted to take her into custody.

"Wait till the tour hears about this", Krista reportedly said. "You will lose your job".

When reached on her cellphone Tuesday, Krista hung up abruptly.

When they left the house, deputies handed Lucas a pamphlet about the dangers of domestic violence and another spelling out victims' rights.

Krista was released later on May 12 on a $2,500 bond. She has a date with the judge May 31.

It is believed that Krista had been drinking all day.
