David Moyes will reportedly hold talks with West Ham board next week

Whilst both West Ham United and Manchester United's Premier League campaigns have both fizzled out in the past few weeks, giving the two sides little to play for, there is still an underlying factor in this game - David Moyes and his attempt to get revenge on the club that he claimed unfairly sacked him a few years back.

Paul Pogba curled a couple of shots narrowly wide for Manchester United, and the France midfielder was booked in the dying stages for kicking out at West Ham's Mark Noble, who was also shown a yellow card as tempers frayed.

"He told me if you don't work hard you won't play, and it made it click in my head, so if you see my stats you will see I run a lot." he said to BBC reporters after playing Manchester United on Thursday night.

Moyes took over at West Ham from Slaven Bilic last November on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

"There was a lot of holding and grabbing and it was a physical game, but this is the Premier League and we competed well with a good team in Manchester United".

"We came second, I am not totally happy that is not my nature".

"I am not critical of the performance at all".

United ensured that they will finish the season in second place after their 0-0 draw at the London Stadium against West Ham on Thursday evening.

"Romero plays on Sunday because he deserves that and some other players are going to play because we as a team achieve the second position and we, as a team, are going to play the FA Cup final", he said. "We need a point to say that only one team was better than us, we need a point to say that 18 teams were not as good as us".

"Our boys showed a great attitude after getting safe at the weekend".

"He is going to be even closer to me than he was as a player so it is just an emotional moment because it is the end of of a career of a fantastic player. We have done the job we came to do - we are not relegated".
