Huddersfield boss Wagner due massive survival bonus

The Terriers guaranteed Premier League survival this week and Wagner said his club could now focus on helping to give Wenger the send-off he deserves.

"I've said this many times before and I've no problems saying it again - they were outstanding and really helped the players".

It's that unwavering dedication to Arsenal that has set Wenger apart from nearly every other manager or head coach in the game.

The Frenchman will be departing the club he has managed for over 22 years after Arsenal play their last game of the 2017/18 Premier League season against Huddersfield Town on Sunday. "Sitting in front of you I don't think of it as my last press conference as I have the game against Huddersfield in mind".

Simon Brotherton: "It promises to be quite an occasion, with Huddersfield supporters celebrating their team's survival in the Premier League while Arsene Wenger takes charge of Arsenal for the last time".

Wagner, like Wenger, quickly set about revolutionising every aspect of the club, changing the footballing culture and ethos to create a unique style and brand (synonymous with their respective sides).

"It's a bit unusual for me [that it's his last news conference]".

"I definitely have emotions attached to the club because of last season", he said. At the moment I don't at all, because I'm sitting in front of you.

"This game isn't just about Arsenal's away-day blues and Wenger's final Gunners goodbye". The outgoing Arsenal boss believes Europe's elite clubs will fight for the introduction of a continental, weekend league to challenge the success of the English top flight.

This football team was only in the bottom three once over the whole season. If you want to make it more attractive, you have to go down to 16 and make a real competition of it. "As a professional, a person and the way he approached and also for the club and especially for football and I think everybody in football should thank him for everything he did". You should always try to do it, and after what we have done, I am pretty sure that this is possible.
