The latest Snapchat redesign brings some sanity back to the platform

Now their lives could be about to get back on track because Snapchat is reversing some of the most controversial aspects of the update. There's now no news on when this new Snapchat redesign will make its way to Android.

Snap is rolling out this redesigned redesign to most iOS users.

At this point in time, the update is rolling out to the "majority" of iOS users with the rest soon to follow.

This move could help Snapchat gain back its users but maybe the damage is already done. Stories will now be returned to the far-right Discover page. Separating companies from people was a big focus for Snapchat's new design and while the test could make Stories easier to find, the network isn't completely bridging the gap between those two groups.

"We are now rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends' Stories by relationships". Last but not the least, a dedicated subscriptions feed enables users to search for stories by popular content creators and publishers.

Despite poor sales, last month Snapchat confirmed a second generation of Spectacles were on the way, with a slimmer design and new ability to take still pictures as well as capture video. Stories can now be shared outside the app on the web, while the app also gained new text and mute options.

"Given the volume of changes we made with the redesign, a number of performance regressions contributed to a disproportionately negative impact among Android users", said Spiegel.

The latest changes actually go a long way toward restoring peace and tranquility for subscribers of the messaging app.
