Lois Riess tried to hide Florida murder, court documents say

A Minnesota woman accused of killing her husband and stealing a woman's identity tried to hide her murder at a Florida condo, court documents show. She appeared distraught, upset and was possibly crying, and standing near the elevator for 13 minutes before walking back to Hutchinson's room.

A national manhunt for Riess began in March after her husband's killing.

Reiss was extradited back to Lee County in connection with the April 9 murder of 59 year-old Pamela Hutchinson on Fort Myers Beach earlier this month. Marceno said that Riess meant to assume Hutchinson's identity after shooting her. She signed the room service receipt as Pamela Hutchinson and used Hutchinson's credit card to pay the room bill. Someone also withdrew $5,000 from Hutchinson's bank account that day.

Video caught Riess getting out of the auto, and she checked in using Hutchinson's credit card; she also put room service and a movie on Riess' card. According to the court documents, towel had been placed over her body and a pillow had been placed underneath.
