Apple launches battery replacement program for specific 13-inch MacBook Pro models

According to the page on Apple's website, a "limited number" of 13-inch MacBook Pro units shipped with a component that could fail, which would in turn cause the battery to expand. Recently, Apple announced that it has come across an issue with a number of its 13-inch laptops produced past year, which will require a battery replacement to fix.

Apple has started the process of rolling out its battery replacement plan for the MacBook Pro 13-inch model without a Touch Bar. Still, those affected will be eligible for a free battery replacement.

This is not the first time that Macbook batteries have been in the news. The store will dispatch your MacBook Pro to the nearest Apple fix center. Plenty of OEMs have recalled and issued new batteries in the past to avoid issues with machines catching fire, or failing to work at all.

You can find the serial number and other identifiers for your MacBook Pro in macOS, on the computer's surface, and on its packaging. Any of these three options will allow owners to easily replace their battery. In 2017, it was revealed that Apple was throttling the performance of old-model iPhones. By throttling the affected iPhones, however, Apple was able to improve the batteries' performance. It's become a popular choice among performance-conscious users, many of whom praise Apple for using solid-state drives (SSD) instead of hard-disk drives (HDDs) in its MacBook Pros. Once found, click Submit after entering the number in the box and Apple will inform you if a new battery is required. Depending upon the location, it will take up to five days for the battery to get replaced.
