Liverpool boss Klopp expects Salah to get rough treatment from Roma 'pals'

The England worldwide will lead out Jurgen Klopp's side against Roma in their Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

The Egypt winger left Roma for Liverpool in June previous year for $50 million.

However, Klopp wants to retain the passion inside the stadium without the ugly scenes outside, which are the subject of a UEFA investigation.

"I really think all the people who are with Liverpool FC deserve that we show this fact".

"This is an outstanding club known for its fantastic atmosphere", Klopp said on Monday.

"This is a huge challenge, a huge test. Roma are a fantastic side with fantastic players as they have shown throughout the Champions League this season".

The 41-goal forward, and newly crowned Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year, faces his old club for the first time since his £38million move last summer as Anfield hosts the opening leg of their semi-final - the Reds' first in the European Cup for a decade.

"Ooh, I don't think it's a good idea for any Italian club to work with me because I only know to order spaghetti in a restaurant", he said.

"Nobody thought after the first result that they can have the kind of comeback against Barcelona because it's not usually possible", he added.

Henderson, who voted for Kevin De Bruyne in the PFA award (players are not allowed to vote for their team-mates), is acutely aware of the part Rome plays in Liverpool's history.

Roma warmed up for Tuesday's trip to Anfield by beating SPAL 3-0 in Serie A, though Di Francesco scoffed at the idea he may have used that game as preparation for Liverpool.

"The manager has been brilliant since he has come to the club".

But the Serie A outfit can not be underestimated, having recovered from a 4-1 defeat by Barcelona in the first leg of their quarter-final at Camp Nou to ultimately eliminate Ernesto Valverde's side. We dealt with the very hard circumstances in the two halves here and there on a high level. "We can't tell you that anybody else was calling for Salah at anywhere near that kind of price, so there's a lot of teams that have missed out on the great play he's had this year".
