UN Security Council meets over Syria strikes

"I spoke to the president this morning - and he said that if the Syrian regime uses this poisonous gas again, the United States is locked and loaded".

At the Security Council meeting in New York, Russian ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said that Russian and Syrian forces are attacking terrorists, not civilians, and that overnight attack by the us and its European allies had worsened an "already catastrophic humanitarian situation".

Russia, China and Bolivia voted in favor of the draft resolution, Reuters reported.

The United Nations Security Council on Saturday rejected a Russian resolution to condemn Western strikes on Syria.

"The time for talking ended last night", Haley said, noting that the strike, which was a joint effort of the U.S., France, and the United Kingdom, was strictly done "to deter the future use of chemical weapons by holding the Syrian regime responsible for its atrocities against humanity".

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told a group of Russian lawmakers on Sunday that Western missile strikes on his country were an act of aggression.

The Pentagon said allied strikes hit three targets: the Barzah chemical weapons research and development site in the Damascus area, a chemical weapons storage operation near Homs and a chemical weapons "bunker" a few miles from the second target.

The assessment notes eight chlorine attacks ahead of the "major attack" on Douma and 44 allegations of chemical weapons use in Syria over the past year.

This - is the suspected use of chemical weapons by Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad on his own people.

"Nothing is certain in these kinds of matters", he said. At least 85 people, including children, were killed in that attack.

The narrowly targeted pre-dawn military operation yesterday took aim at three alleged chemical weapons facilities.

"Chemical weapons are a threat to us all", Haley later added.

Prime Minister Theresa May during a press conference in 10 Downing Street, London on the air strikes against Syria. And it would establish a new body to determine responsibility for chemical attacks, call for a cease-fire in Syria, unimpeded access for all humanitarian aid, and an urgent resumption of negotiations on a political settlement.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, slammed the strikes as a "military crime".

Worldwide leaders have been reacting to Friday night's air strike in Syria.

Chlorine, in contrast, has been used more widely in Syria's conflict without past USA reprisals, and the chemical itself is far easier to find and weaponize, experts say. Our warnings have been left unheard.

"A pre-designed scenario is being implemented.Insulting the President of Russian Federation is unacceptable and inadmissible", continued the spokesperson. "Again, we are being threatened". The Iranian Foreign Ministry also condemned the strike and warned of unspecified consequences. "This lets them know that this not good behavior". But last night's attack was aimed at the "heart of enterprise", the Pentagon said.

Russian Federation countered that their action was aimed at overthrowing Assad and keeping Moscow's influence in check. "The U.S. -the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons-has no moral right to blame other countries".

"Very soon, very soon, we're coming out", Trump said to a crowd in Richfield, Ohio, on March 30.
