GOP senator to Trump: Ask Greitens to resign

The Senators, as well as many House members, are incensed after a special House committee investigating possible misconduct by the governor released a report Wednesday that detailed alleged physical violence and sexual aggression by Greitens.

Greitens had admitted to an extramarital affair before he took office. The woman claimed Greitens later regretted the threat, told her he had erased the photo, and she entered into a consensual affair following his contrition. "This is not a witch hunt", said the speaker.

Throughout months, Republican country attorneygeneral Josh Hawley, a candidate for its U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Claire McCaskill, combined a rising number of Missouri politicians from both parties phoning for Greitens to measure down. "So, I'll follow his lead". Greitens did not testify before the House committee. Richardson said during a news conference he will begin the process of calling a special session.

When the defense counsel asked the woman, "Did you ever see (Greitens) in possession of a camera or phone?" she answered: "Not to my knowledge. I don't want him leading my state". He's a former Rhodes Scholar, Navy SEAL officer, author and motivational speaker who gained a national platform after founding The Mission Continues charity to help military veterans become involved in their communities. When she replied that she had, Greitens "slapped me across my face, just like hard", the woman said. "But I think if the President of the United States added his voice to it, it might affect his training and his wiring in such a way that he would actually do it".

On Thursday, a few Republican state senators - Rob Schaaf, " Doug Libla and Gary Romine - signed a letter into Trump advocating him to intervene by advocating Greitens to give up in sequence toldquo;rescue Missouri from weeks of pain and shame coping with each of this.

An attorney for the woman declined comment, citing a gag order in the criminal case.

On Wednesday, the House Committee released a 25-page investigation report into Greitens.

"Those words - spanking, hitting - you can't defend those actions", said Richard.

Greitens was indicted in February on a single felony count of invasion of privacy, charging that he took a photo of the alleged victim in a state of undress without her consent, then made it accessible by computer to use as retaliation should she divulge their relationship.

Greitens has seized on the dream portion of the woman's statement, telling media that the case is "a political witch hunt now based on the testimony of somebody who said under oath that they may be remembering this through a dream". The state constitution lays out several grounds for impeachment, including "moral turpitude", although there is disagreement on whether the offending behavior must occur while a person is in office.

Another twist surfaced Thursday morning in Greitens criminal court case related the subject matter of the House investigation.

Defense lawyers for Greitens had attempted to delay the release of the report.

The Circuit Attorney's Office had previously said there had been a malfunction with the machine used to record the video interview which was conducted by the prosecution's hired private investigator, William Tisaby. The office's filing said Gardner was gathering more information, not withholding information.

In it, the circuit attorney claims discovery of the video was made Tuesday, and that it was delivered to the defense after all associated notes relating to it were gathered together on Thursday. The judge has not ruled on the request.
