Katy Perry Cringes Through Her Parents' Appearance on 'American Idol'

Keep reading below to find out who got sent home on American Idol, and who's still in the running.

Catie Turner wasn't daunted in the least by being the first to perform. Early favorite Catie Turner sang "Good to Be Alive" with Andy Grammer. Katy insisted Kay Kay can definitely sing and the song was like a blend of two different fruits. "You are such a natural", Perry said.

In a complete change of mood, Cade Foehner came forth with his flawless gravel voice to open the INXS song, "Never Tear Us Apart". When this girl gets on stage, she seems like a seasoned performer.

Rocker Cade Foehner - who's also a minister - closed out the show with a fiery performance of Jimi Hendrix's version of the Bob Dylan tune, "All Along the Watchtower", showing off some rock star moves as well as his guitar chops. Luke asked him if he wanted to come on tour already.

Layla Spring sang Sugarland's hit "Stuck Like Glue" with the duo, and even though the judges loved the performance and Layla's ability to hold her own against Jennifer Nettles, it wasn't enough. Her energy was infectious and appreciated by the gracious Nettles.

"You are really rising to the occasion", Lionel told Michael, before Luke confessed he couldn't take his eyes off the singer.

Dominique sang Aloe Blacc's hit "Wake Me Up" with Blacc, who became a big fan, raving of the finalist, "This is an American Idol right here!"

On the advice of the judges, New Hampshire native Kay Kay tried to "get lost" in her performance of Rihanna's "Love on the Brain" and succeeded.

Brandon Diaz decides to take a risk and sing "Despacito" with Luis Fonsi.

Kay Kay was up next with a performance of "Drive By" with Pat Monahan. Monahan counseled her to keep her energy and have fun, saying the rest would come into place. The soulful performance was so good it made "Katy Perry pass out", according to the show's website.

Surprise American Idol guests Mary & Keith spilt the tea on the judge and their daughter Katy calling her mouthy and attention seeking!

Trevor McBane is now performing with Briggs too. Katy Perry praised that Trevor was coming out of his shell. Although he did an impressive job with the song, Diaz failed to make it to the live shows because of his performance in the solo round. The song was eloquently moving and personal between the pair. Alaina, who also competed as a teen, told Spring, "This show will change your life, but you have to continue on that momentum".

Andy Grammer makes his second appearance of the evening by way of a duet with 18-year-old Jonny. Her fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, joked about trying to stop her from running towards the contestant.

Dennis Lorenzo and soul singer Allen Stone teamed up to sing Stone's "Unaware", the song that Dennis sang at the first audition.
