BC hockey community reeling after Sask. bus crash that killed 15

The Saskatoon StarPhoenix has confirmed that the deceased are head coach Darcy Haugan, assistant coach Mark Cross, driver Glen Doerksen, play-by-play broadcaster Tyler Bieber, volunteer statistician Brody Hinz, defenceman Logan Boulet, defenceman Adam Herold, right winger Logan Hunter, centre Jaxon Joseph, defenceman Xavier Labelle, left-winger Jacob Leicht, forward Conner Lukan, captain and centre Logan Schatz, right-winger Evan Thomas and defenceman Stephen Wack.
Aerial footage showed the bus on its side, its roof peeled back and its front end destroyed. There is a stand of trees on the southeast corner of the intersection, limiting visibility of the approach on both roads.
The bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos has been involved in a serious crash with an 18-wheeler enroute to their game against the Nipawin Hawks.
The Broncos are a close-knit team who dyed their hair blond for the playoffs.
A candlelight and prayer vigil will be held in Ladner on Sunday evening, in solidarity with the grieving community of Humboldt, Sask.
"God bless Darcy Haugan for being an incredible mentor and coach to young hockey players and prayers for his family to help cope with their enormous loss", the Western Provinces Hockey Association wrote on Twitter.
The community, though, will face the tragedy together.
"The honest answer is I don't know, my reasoning and theological explanations are going to seem like they fall short in every instance in a case like this", he said.
Mayor of Humboldt Rob Muench said: "It's overwhelming".
Norman Mattock, a longtime season ticket holder, said his neighbor housed player Morgan Gobeil.
