Gov. Walker takes to twitter, warns of possible Democratic wave

Dallet will serve a 10-year term, replacing conservative Justice Michael Gableman, who did not seek re-election.
Dallet won the seat over her opponent, Judge Michael Screnock from Sauk County, Wisc., a former conservative-activist turned lawyer.
Dallet's sizable margin alarmed RepublicanGov. Scott Walker enough that he posted a series of messages on Twitter warning he could be the victim of a "blue wave" this fall.
"Tonight's results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI", Walker tweeted Tuesday evening. Next, they'll target me and work to undo our bold reforms.
Wisconsin's Supreme Court races haven't always been reliable predictors of elections later in the year.
Screnock told the crowd at his election watch party he was unable to get in touch with Dallet to congratulate her on her win.
Dallet won by almost 12 points with unofficial results almost complete. The turnout was 22.2 percent, the highest for a spring election since 2011 and second highest over the past 12 Supreme Court elections.
Dallet's victory comes a week after Walker and Republicans stepped away from their effort to block special elections from being held in the Senate District 1 and Assembly District 42, which have been vacant since December.
Her win fueled optimism among Democrats for more victories in the fall midterms, as Randy Bryce, Democratic challenger to Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan, called her win "a rallying cry for working folks". Walker also used the results to raise money.
Screnock was backed by the state chamber of commerce, National Rifle Association and state Republican Party. "We are still only 20 percent of the judges in Wisconsin, and I'm thrilled to be part of a Supreme Court that includes mostly women". "I think people are exhausted of what's been going on in our state in terms of the money coming in to buy these elections and people spoke out tonight".
Dallet's victory narrows conservative control of the court from 5-2 to 4-3. There are now six women on the seven member court. It supported Trump in 2016-the first time it'd favored a Republican presidential candidate in 32 years-after electing Republican Scott Walker as governor in 2010.
Holder, who sued to force Walker to call the two upcoming legislative special elections, said the Dallet win was really about Walker. I wish Judge Dallet well, and I sincerely hope she serves us well on the court.
