Sarah Jessica Parker Endorses Cynthia Nixon For Governor Of New York

Carrie Bradshaw's got Miranda Hobbes' back!

A message approved by Sarah Jessica Parker herself: SJP has taken to Instagram to officially endorse Cynthia Nixon for governor. Pressed by the New York Post on her position, the "Divorce" actress released a statement to the outlet Wednesday that sounded kind of lukewarm: "Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls. I look forward to talking to her about her NY state gubernatorial bid", Parker said through her spokesperson.

Not exactly a glowing recommendation but not not a glowing recommendation.

Still, we doubt Nixon is bothered by Parker's lack of endorsement, as she already stated that she's received "love, support and excitement" from her SATC peers regarding her political debut. A dear friend. Running for Governor of our great state.

But Parker has come out and endorsed Nixon.

Nixon's gubernatorial bid was rumored for a long time, but she finally confirmed her plans a couple of weeks ago. "I know that she would be an excellent Governor!" she wrote on March 19.

Kristin Davis, who also starred on "Sex and the City", backed Nixon following her announcement. So far, she has one vote in the bag from her BFF - and if her social media accounts are any indication, there are plenty votes coming her way.

Kim Cattrall was asked by a fan on Twitter about Nixon's run, and she tweeted, "I support & respect any former colleague's right to make their own career choices". But while Cuomo has $30 million to work with, Nixon does have celebrities like Parker on her side. If Nixon's run turns out not to be the one thing they can all agree on, at least we know that avoiding more drama surrounding the show seems to be top at all of their lists of priorities.
