Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Chapter Convener Syed Faiz Naqshbandi on the directions of Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Dr. Umar Farooq held a special interactive session with NGOs and representatives from across the Globe in Geneva now there to attend the 37th session of UN Human Rights Council and informed them about terrorizing the detainees and prisoners related to Kashmir movement who are in detention under the draconian Public Safety Act and other inhuman laws.

Afterward, an image of Junaid holding an AK-47 assault rifle and wearing an armor vest went viral on social media. "A message posted with the picture said Junaid had joined the Hizb ul Mujahideen (HM) militant outfit", police said, adding that police were ascertaining the facts. Police sources confirmed that a missing case has been filed into the "mysterious" disappearance. The two are reportedly friends. According to the police, Junaid had gone missing from his home on Friday afternoon.

The photo caption read "Junaid Ashraf, who has a master's degree in business administration from Kashmir University, has been code-named Amaar Bhai", the official said.

"We have taken the complaint and we are looking into it", the officer told Kashmir Life. The writing on the picture speaks of Khan, 30, an MBA graduate from Kashmir University as "joining the Hizbul Mujahideen on March 24, 2018". "We are working on it and a confirmation will be made soon", sources said.

In his first interview as chairman to local Kashmiri media, Sehrai had called the Islamic State ideology's "venomous" and that their ideology has nothing to do with Kashmir.

Experts fear the latest development is also likely to give an impetus to the phenomenon of "new insurgency" in Kashmir that was popularised by the Hizbul Mujahideen's Burhan Wani whose killing sparked mass unrest in 2016.
