Naidu alleges vendetta against him for SCS status

Naidu then directed his party lawmakers to strongly raise the State's voice in Parliament when it moves the no-confidence motion.

Two ministers of the TDP - YS Chowdhary and Ashok Gajapathi Raju - had quit their posts after the party pulled out of the NDA government over the special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Yet, the Centre remains unmoved. He said since a strong TDP means a strong Andhra Pradesh, attempts were being made to weaken the party by using the YSR Congress Party and Jana Sena. "Today's protest is only a sample of what we are going to do in the days to come".

The Telugu Desam Party slammed the government over their behavior of not facing a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha and called it as a "political suicide".

The CM remembered the unity of the 161 MLAs that was exhibited during a crisis earlier and said that the same dedication should be shown by the MPs now. "The report says that the TDP government has paid an exorbitant rate of Rs 21,350 to excavate every cubic meter of sand", Raju said, adding that the BJP is not against Pattiseema or Polavaram but has doubts about the way the project has been executed. "I was the first to oppose it", the Chief Minister.

Stating that the State was pushed backwards by 20 years after the separation of Telangana, he said, "How much should the Centre help us to bridge this gap? The Centre should heed to the call of the people of AP and honour the promises and implement all the provisions of the AP Re-organisation Act, 2014, in letter and spirit".

At the same time though, the TDP also requested Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to hold an all-party meeting to discuss the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. He said, "This is a historic Day for Andhra Pradesh".
