Modi led govt will not win 2019 LS polls: Rahul Gandhi

Chikkamagaluru (Karna), Mar 21 (PTI) Congress president Rahul Gandhi today asserted the Modi government would not win the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as he charged the Prime Minister with not understanding the true meaning of 'Dharma.' He also that the Congress would win the coming assembly polls in Karnataka "with a bang".

"Gandhi offered prayers at the Sharadamba temple and met the Jagadguru Shankaracharya (head of Sringeri Mutt)", the official said.

Addressing a rally at Karnataka's Chikmagalur, the Congress chief even reprimanded the Prime Minister's promise made during the campaigning of 2014 General Election. He had further asked, "What is the role of Cambridge Analytica in social media profile of Rahul Gandhi?"

"Agar Congress party apne baarey mein itney gambhir samachar par koi prativad nahi kar sakti, toh Congress party ko, shama karenge, desh chalaney ka adhikar nahi hae (If Congress party can not deny or protest over a news item of such importance, then they have no right to rule the country)", Mr Prasad said.

In Padubidre in costal district of Udupi, Rahul said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "insulting" the common man by claiming credit for India's progress. "But all these should not divert the attention at all from the Congress party's conspicuous silence for last so many months since reports published in media that the party was using the services of the firm". Subsequently, Congress communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala today hit out at PM Modi and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad saying, "Hitler had an associate called Goebbels, Modi ji has an associate called Ravi Shankar Prasad".

Shedding light on a collaborative effort, he said that one man (Modi) can not change India for the better.

"About 10-15 rich persons of India have taken away your Rs8 lakh crore". Rahul is in Coastal Karnataka as part of the Jana Aashirwada Yatre.

Chikmagalur, which has a strong BJP presence but was also once Indira Gandhi's constituency, and Hassan, the home district of former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Deve Gowda, were on his itinerary on Wednesday. "I want to specifically warn the Congress that the nation will not tolerate any kind of data theft or manipulation in India", he said. It was an emotional moment, said a Congress leader.
