Texas package bombs probed as possible hate crimes

Anthony Stephan House, 39, was killed on March 2 when a package blew up at his home just 11 miles away from Monday's incident.
The teen died at the scene, while the woman was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities have warned residents that if they receive a package they are not expecting, they should contact the Austin Police Department. The first blast happened March 2. Along with a first explosion on March 2nd, which killed a man just north of Austin, CNN reports the authorities are now trying to determine whether or not all three incidents are connected. In the meantime, Manley said, "it is appropriate for residents to be concerned".
The March 2 blast that killed House was reported about 6:55 a.m.in the 1000 block of Haverford Drive.
The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms said a national response team would join Austin police in the investigation.
Over the span of 10 days, three explosions have come from packages that were placed on the front door steps at three different homes in Austin.
Details about the relationship between the two and whether the lived in the home where the explosion took place have not yet been released.
It appears the packages were not sent through the mail or another delivery service but were left on the doorsteps of the homes, the Statesman reported. "They brought that package inside the residence and as they opened that package, both victims were in the kitchen and the package exploded causing the injuries that resulted in the young man's death and the injuries to the adult female", Manley said today.
