Thompson: Rangers ace Cummings would thrive against Celtic

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told Rangers players to "just be careful what you wish for" in response to them cheering the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final draw against the Hoops.

"I think the players will be well, well up for it", he said in a video on the Herald Scotland. Your best bet is to check who is broadcasting the game in your country and see if they have an online platform or iOS or Android app to watch it through.

"I don't think it's disrespectful, I don't think it's overconfidence, it's our guys relishing the opportunity to play in a massive, massive game for this club".

Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown ahead of Sunday's showdown, the midfielder acknowledged Rangers' impressive recent form but is confident his side can continue their unbeaten run against their neighbours.

"He has to win one of these games to secure the Rangers job on a more permanent basis", he said.

"It's always the way in football, when things are successful, it's a brilliant place to work".

Despite a 2-0 win over Aberdeen in their last Premiership outing, Celtic have lost two of their past five away league games - as many as they had in their previous 43 combined.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a new lease of life since joining on loan from English outfit Norwich City during the January transfer window, quickly establishing himself as an integral part of manager Graeme Murty's first-team squad.

"I'm just going game by game".

Because the first time we did a Celtic-Rangers game, people were talking about record scorelines. We played a practice game this week and he looked very, very strong in it. Going forward, we're a big threat.

"This is the biggest test we now have and we have got a group of players who are really positive, really hungry and desperate to do well, which is a great thing for a manager".
