Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus low-light camera performance: Yay or nay?

Kuo explains that it is "likely" Samsung will remove under-display fingerprint technology from the Note 9 due to "technological difficulties".

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launched past year and has been the premium phone of Samsung.

Samsung Electronics will begin sales of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones in India on March 16, a company official said. These 3 were previously sold with Android Nougat installed.

As far as screen size goes, the Note 9 may well match the 6.3 inches of the Note 8, just a shade bigger than the S9 Plus. Previous Samsung models, including the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7, and many other Android phones, have come with this always-on display feature.

6/11/17: Samsung is reportedly gearing up to start a pilot production run of the Galaxy Note 9 in the first quarter of 2018.

Kuo noted the technology doesn't meet Samsung's standards, at least, not yet. Its analysts do not believe that face scanning can replace fingerprint authentication, so a reader is vital for future full-screen designs.

While Samsung is still facing problems with the in-display fingerprint solution, China's Vivo has already launched its Vivo X20 Plus UD with the world's first optical fingerprint sensor.

While there are several new features introduced in the S9 smartphones, it's not all about what's now. We're not sure what's happening now but Vivo is already using a similar technology as made possible by Synaptics' Clear ID in-display sensor.

Past year may have been an exceptional one, as Samsung introduced its curved glass "Infinity Display" in the mainstream flagship for the first time, creating renewed interest in the product line. Which will obviously require more time.

Lots of smartphone owners have opted to stick with their existing smartphone rather than buy the new breed of insanely expensive flagships such as the iPhone X. The latest Galaxy S9 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a new Intelligent Scan functionality that combines data from the facial recognition and iris scanner to recognize users.
