Eternally Relatable Tiffany Haddish Re-Wears Gown at Oscars

She may not have been up for any awards at Sunday night's (4 March) Oscars, but Tiffany Haddish definitely stole the show on the biggest of stages.

"My father is from Eritrea", Haddish told ABC on the red carpet.

In a video captured by Variety's Elizabeth Wagmeister, Haddish can be heard yelling, "you're gonna be my momma!"

Haddish, who had vowed from the red carpet to meet Meryl Streep and talk to her about playing her mother onscreen, called out to the 21-time nominee from the stage. The Girls Trip star, who has had a breakout year after the comedy became a certified blockbuster last summer, has mentioned Streep at almost every turn.

"Don't worry, there are so many more white people to come", Maya assured the crowd, lest anyone worry that the Oscars had become "too black".

Haddish wore her now-famous Alexander McQueen dress - albeit with a pair of UGGS. I'm [going to] wear this dress multiple times.

"This is a $4,000 dress!"

"I would totally do it if we get paid!" "If I pay 4K for a dress, I'm wearing it at my wedding, three awards shows and you gotta bury me in it", one person said.

HADDISH: I don't know, but it feels like I'm in a department store.

She then went on to detail where else she would wear the dress: at a bat mitzvah, at her own wedding, and even at her own funeral one day.

When Haddish spotted Streep walking the carpet, she did not let the opportunity pass, and she also didn't let a barrier get in her way.
