Trade prompts Washington to reschedule Isaiah Thomas' jersey retirement

The Los Angeles Lakers will be attempting to keep their winning streak alive when they face the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. The plan is for Thomas to eventually work himself into position to join the starting unit, according to ESPN's sources.

"He's met with Luke and (assistant coach) Brian Shaw and he understands the direction of the team, and wants to come in and contribute the right way".

Thomas spoke during the shootaround about wanting to be a starter.

Tuitt is coming off of a season in which he played in 12 games and finished with 25 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.

Last season for the Boston Celtics, he averaged 28.9 points while shooting 46.3 percent from the field.

The Los Angeles Lakers are downright giddy thanks to some trade deadline wheeling and dealing that has the franchise primed to reinvent itself in the years to come. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka also added that he thinks Thomas and Ball can play together.

We're told Denise is 4 months pregnant.

"He's day-to-day, (Ball) is".

"When he got to what hurt", Walton said, "he stopped doing that and then went back to doing what didn't hurt, which was more than he had done before".

The coach continued, "We don't need those distractions". [Brandon Ingram has] been doing a fabulous job but we've gotta get another guy in here.

"Our priority was finding a date that worked to make this an unforgettable experience for Isaiah and for our fans, and we're thrilled to be able to do so this season", Washington athletic director Jennifer Cohen said in a news release.

Ball said he wants to play in the Rising Stars Challenge but isn't sure how his knee will feel by the February 16 event. From the looks of it, they might need to continue living life without the rookie for a few more days. "Hopefully IT can come in and do that".
