YouTube suspends ads on Logan Paul's channels following latest controversial video

YouTube has suspended advertising on video blogger Logan Paul's channels owing to his "pattern of behaviour". Also Paul on Twitter, in a since deleted tweet, suggested he'd eat a Tide Pod for every retweet from his 4.2 million followers - an attempted joke aimed at a risky, Internet-fueled teen trend of swallowing the colorful detergent packets for views. He visited a suicide forest and of course, they stumbled upon someone who had taken their own life. USA poison centers in January reported 142 incidents from individuals taking the "Tide Pod Challenge".

After a friend throws the dead rats in a trash can, Paul pulls out the stun gun to zap the creatures one more time.

He was roundly criticised in December 2017 after posting a video with the dead body of a man who had committed suicide, and captioning it, "We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest". While the company's previous punishment removed Paul from its top-tier ad revenue streams, this decision will keep him from profiting on any of his content until the decision is reversed.

He returned to YouTube on January 24 with a video that focused on suicide prevention, including an interview he conducted with a man who had attempted to take his own life. He appeared on Good Morning America. On Twitter, YouTube Creators cited his "recent pattern of behavior", as reason for the suspension. This program pays out higher revenue to channels such as Paul's that bring in millions of subscribers and views.

Some people have signed a petition to get Paul banned from YouTube. Creators came for the promise of artistic freedom, which YouTube grants them right up until the point that advertisers or media sites grumble about it. The most successful ones do it by being provocative, an incentive to constantly up the ante. Some people do terrible things. He has also posted provocative videos from his trip to Japan and encouraged his viewers to take part in the (lethal) Tide Pod challenge in a now-deleted Tweet. That video is still up, with an age restriction. He has however dropped a video to explain why he contacted Robert in the first place, and to give a preview of what the interview might involve.

"Repeatedly, Logan Paul has shown a serious lack of respect, both human and nonhuman", PETA further added.
