Two students injured in school shooting in USA

Chaos erupted shortly after the starting bell in an elective class, made up of students from different grades.

All of the parents of the victims have been notified, said authorities.

The 12-year-old was taken into custody after Thursday's incident at Sal Castro Middle School. The woman, who was not identified, told the station that her granddaughter was caring and loving but didn't have many friends and had been bullied by another girl.

"That's still the big question mark for us", Arcos said. He said investigators would present their case Friday to the district attorney's office for filing consideration.

"I'm anxious and I want her to be released already. Hopefully we'll have an opportunity again to talk to her". The girl's wrist wound was considered minor. TV video from helicopters showed a dark-haired girl in a sweatshirt being led from the school in handcuffs as anxious parents and family members gathered on a street corner, many crying and talking on their phones as they waited. The school was placed on lockdown, which later was lifted. "I had the gun in my backpack and I didn't know it was loaded and my backpack fell and the gun went off"'. "Anything can happen, even at schools".

Police have said they believe the shooting was an accident.

"The school has been declared safe at this point". She had been in Calabasas when she heard about the shooting, describing it as a "dramatic day". LAPD officials said it appears the girl did not plan to shoot when she brought the gun into school.

The middle school shares a campus with Belmont High School. He's in stable condition and expected to fully recover. "I hope they're OK".

"??Someone chose to bring a gun".

Zipperman said authorities' initial focus will be caring for students who may have witnessed the shooting.

"They thought it was a toy gun, but then it shot", he told KACB.

She texted that she was sitting next to two girls who were injured. The 16-year-old killed a principal and a custodian and injured eight children.

Dr Aaron Strumwasser, at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, said: "I think he will do fine..." Two of those injuries were minor graze wounds and the students were released, officials said.

But police say it was an "unintentional" incident that occurred after a 12-year-old girl brought a semiautomatic weapon to school that went off in the classroom.
