Man arrested for raping teenager inside Cinema hall

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her Facebook friend at a cinema hall in Secunderabad during Sanjay Leela Bhansali " s "Padmaavat' show, police said on Friday. The accused has been identified as 23-year-old K Bhikshapati from Jangaon.

He was sent to judicial custody on Thursday.

He then took the teenager to a park from where they made a decision to go and watch Padmaavat at Prashant theatre in Secunderabad.

According to the details of the incident, Bhikshapati who is a driver made friendship with the daughter of a Hindu priest two months back. "Later, inside the theatre, he raped her by luring her with fake promise of marriage", the report quoted inspector M Mattaiah as saying. Commenting on the matter, the investigating police officer said that the accused was able to take advantage because there were only a few people in the theatre. As per reports, the Hyderabad police has arrested the accused. Taking the cognizance of the complaint filed by the girl, the Hyderabad police have arrested the accused.

Two months ago, in a similar incident, a group of boys allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl inside a movie theater in Uttar Pradesh. The Market police registered a case under section 376 IPC against Bhikshapati.
