Kurdish YPG spotted firing Iran-made missile at Turkish Army decoy

Officials in the US-led worldwide coalition against the terrorist group have warned that Turkey's offensive in Afrin could destabilize recent gains against ISIS along the Iraq-Syria border in the Euphrates River valley.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with French daily Le Figaro, expressed his concern regarding the possibility of a Turkish "invasion" in the Kurdish enclave of Afrin, in Syria, as part of Turkey's recently launched military campaign there. He said USA forces do not operate with Kurdish allies in the Syria border area now under military assault by the Turks.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accused the union of treason on January 29 and more than 300 people have since been detained for social media posts criticizing the military operation in Afrin.

Yildirim says that "the whole world knows and should know that Turkey does not operate with the mentality of an invader".

Macron said it could be "a real problem" if "Syrian sovreignty is not respected".

Turkish authorities have detained 311 people suspected of disseminating "terror propaganda" over Ankara's offensive against a Kurdish militia in Syria, the interior ministry said on Monday.

Ankara, which considers the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syria a "terror" group, has vowed to carry on and possibly expand the operation, launched on Jan 20, despite global concern and strained relations with Washington. The missile attacks were believed to be carried out by members of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Syrian Kurdish fighters, it said.

Rockets fired from northern Syria into a Turkish border town on Wednesday killed a teenage girl and wounded another person, Turkey's state-run news agency reported.

Two people were hospitalized after the attack. A civilian officer died in the attack, two other people were injured, one of whom was a military official, according to a statement from the Turkish army, quoted by Focus.

Reports suggest Turkish air and artillery strikes have damaged villages and killed civilians there, in addition to killing dozens of Syrian Kurdish fighters.
