Supply: Wall (knee) might be out two months

Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Will is scheduled to undergo an arthroscopic debridement procedure on his left knee Wednesday, the team announced Tuesday. He will miss six weeks & will not play in upcoming All-Star weekend, The Washington Post has learned.

Wall has been bothered by his left knee for months, and his stats have suffered as a result.

With Wall sidelined, the Wizards are exceptionally thin at point guard. A huge bulk of those responsibilities will also fall on back-up guard Tim Frazier and second-year combo Tomas Satoransky, who both have exhibited lead ball handling capability in the past. Wall's operation is described as a clean-up procedure and not major. He previously had fluid drained from the knee and had undergone injections in hopes of alleviating the pain. National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver has already added Paul George to the roster following DeMarcus Cousins' season ending injury, but now he'll be tasked with finding another.

Wall is averaging 40.8 FanDuel points per game this season.

If Wall misses exactly six weeks, he could return on March 13 in a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. That's a disappointing considering the team was expected to take a step forward this season after winning 49 games and a playoff series a year ago.

At 27-22, the Washington Wizards are now sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, though they're just two games up on the eighth seeded Philadelphia 76ers.

Yet the Wizards' remaining schedule features opponents that boast a composite 55% winning percentage, the most hard of any team in the Eastern conference.
