Liverpool sends out-of-favour Sturridge on loan to West Brom

The player himself is believed to be keen on the move to the San Siro, and hopes that a string of good performances in Italy can kick start his hopes of making Gareth Southgate's England squad for this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

Sturridge was limited to just seven Premier League starts in 2016-17, and he has made only five in the current campaign.

Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge will undergo a medical at West Brom on Monday ahead of completing his loan move to the Hawthorns, according to a reliable journalist.

Alan Pardew's side travel to face league leaders Manchester City on Wednesday and have been drawn to host Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

However, Newcastle are apparently willing to pay Sturridge's £120,000-a-week wages in full and it seems like Jurgen Klopp is happy to let his striker go.

Even though Sturridge has not been able to record regular game time, the two converted chances to his name this season would rank him joint-third in West Brom's goalscoring charts alongside centre-back Jonny Evans.

"I've got friends here I've played with before, the manager spoke very well, the challenge with the team and the style of play".

"He has fantastic talent and will strengthen our ambitions on both fronts".

West Brom are second-bottom of the league with 20 points from 24 games, three points outside the safety zone.
