House could vote today to release controversial FISA memo

Republican lawmakers continue to push for the release of a much-hyped memo that purportedly reveals government surveillance abuse.
The memo was written by staff from the office of Republican Devin Nunes - who is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee - after they were granted access to classified documents.
Trump recently revived his complaints that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was not properly supervising Mueller's probe, and the president has suggested firing Rosenstein - a highly controversial action against the person officially overseeing the special counsel's investigation, an adviser who speaks frequently with Trump said.
A vote on the release may come as soon as Monday evening. Top White House aides have strongly indicated Trump would approve releasing the memo. Although reportsindicate that the document consists of partisan talking points crafted to cast undue aspersions on the work of the Justice Department, there has been an increasing groundswell of support-fueled, in part, by the #ReleaseTheMemo Twitter campaign noted above-for making the memo available to the public.
"I don't care if you see the memo". If a majority of the House Intelligence Committee votes to release it, Trump has five days to block it. Mr. Rosenstein is the acting attorney general in the Russian Federation case since Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from all Russia-related cases.
"Well, the Department of Justice hasn't even read the memo so it would be hard for them to determine what would on would not be reckless because they haven't seen it", Gaetz claimed.
President Donald Trump, who believes the entire administration should be in his pocket, was left quite stunned when he got a reality check that his "guys" at the Justice Department did not agree with each and every one of his moves.
But a trip Page took to Russian Federation in July 2016 while working on Trump's campaign caught the bureau's attention again, and US law enforcement officials began conducting surveillance on him in the fall of 2016, shortly after he left the campaign.
"I viewed the classified report from House Intel relating to the FBI, FISA abuses, the infamous Russian dossier, and so-called 'Russian collusion.' What I saw is absolutely shocking".
"The president has been clear publicly and privately that he wants absolute transparency throughout this process", White House spokesman, Hogan Gidley, said in a statement.
The problem with the approval of the application, the memo alleges, is that Federal Bureau of Investigation and DOJ officials did not explain to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that they were seeking to expand a warrant to surveil Page based on information collected in a dossier compiled by investigator Christopher Steele. My understanding is that the same approach applied to earlier releases, such as the publication of the 9/11 Commission Report.
