New York City to host 2018 GRAMMYs 15 years after

The Grammys will be broadcast live on CBS from 7:30 to 11 p.m. ET/4:30 to 8 p.m. PT on Sunday, Jan. 28.

ET's Cameron Mathison and Sophie Schillaci joined forces in our Absolut Lime Green Room to reflect on our favorite GRAMMYs of the past.

K-Dot and U2, previously announced as separate performers, collaborated on a series of tracks in the past year, including XXX. off Lamar's Grammy-nominated DAMN. and "Get Out of Your Own Way" and "American Soul" from the band's Songs of Experience album.

The GRAMMYs stage has seen plenty of powerful pairings, including Elton John and Eminem's collaboration in 2001.

New York's first Grammys show since 2003, to be held on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, is the culmination of a two-year effort.

1959 At the first Grammys, the Best Rhythm & Blues Performance category was won by a white group, the Champs, with "Tequila". The Album of the Year contenders Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars and Childish Gambino make up the most minority nominees since 2005.

2008 Jazz keyboardist Herbie Hancock becomes the most recent black artist to win Album of the Year.

As for the party's menu, the chefs at the Marriott Marquis are preparing an eclectic mix of four food stations, all inspired by NY neighborhoods. This year's ceremony finds several nominated artists on the verge of making history.

Further amping up the excitement for viewers, Vh1 has organised a Vivo V7 and V7 Plus presents Vh1 Trippin to the 60th Annual Grammys Awards contest, enabling one victor to travel to New York City to witness music's biggest night. The nomination of people of color in major categories acknowledges that artists' of color talents are more than the Best Urban Contemporary category, they are also more than viable candidates for Album, Record and Song of the Year.

Despite SZA's status as the Grammy's most-nominated female artist this year with five nods, Cara nearly seems like the preordained choice to win this category.

This is also one of the most diverse lists of artists nominated between the categories Album, Record and Song of the Year.

Ed Sheeran was snubbed in the album, song and record of the year categories despite his romantic pop album "Divide" being the biggest seller of 2017.

Grammy Awards Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich told the crowd that he was most excited about performances from SZA, Childish Gambino and Kesha, though there are some performances he still can't discuss. This comes four months after she beats Beyonce at the MTV Video Music Awards, where her acceptance speech is interrupted by Kanye West's infamous "imma let you finish" moment.
