UCF fans erect challenging billboard in Alabama

The college football season ended on Monday night, with Alabama claiming their fifth national championship in the last decade.

UCF finished with the only ideal season in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision.

The billboard challenges Alabama to a home-and-home series, which means each team would host the other in its home stadium over a two-year period.

"We felt like this year's team could run with anyone in the country, and the Peach Bowl win [over Auburn] proved that", explained ringleader Sean Barakett, who says he contributed $100 toward the campaign.

In the week following UCF's Peach Bowl victory there has been significant debate about whether the Knights should be considered national champs.

But the Knights beat both Auburn and Georgia this season.

The billboard reads: "Congratulations Alabama!"

The school declared itself the national champion team, even throwing a celebratory parade at Walt Disney World.

The Tide are legit champions, but their resume isn't that different than UCF's.

Alabama hasn't played a non-conference home-and-home series since facing off with Penn State in 2010 and 2011.

While UCF isn't ranked No. 1 in most major polls, the Colley Matrix ranks the Knights No. 1. SEC fans can laugh all they want, but you can't argue with UCF until Alabama beats them. A future meeting of the teams would do nothing to change the outcome of 2017, but it'd still be fun, and fun things are good.
