Michelle Williams earned only $1000 for reshoot after Spacey was dropped

SAG-AFTRA has stepped in to explore the pay disparity between All the Money in the World actors Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg on the re-shoots of the Ridley Scott film.

But Tuesday, USA Today reported that Wahlberg's team negotiated his $1.5 million fee and Williams was not told about it.

Charlie Plummer in a still from the movie All the Money in the World. "She's a brilliant Oscar-nominated Golden Globe-winning actress", raged indignant U.S. actress Jessica Chastain on Twitter. "She deserves more than 1 per cent of her male co-star's salary". After multiple men accused Spacey of unwanted sexual advances, the "All the Money in the World" team replaced him with Christopher Plummer and hastily reassembled much of the cast and crew in London for reshoots. The filmmaker, cast and crew raced to reshoot scenes in November (17) in an ambitious attempt to keep to the movie's December release schedule, and Michelle confesses it was her daughter, Matilda, who pushed her to go back to work over the USA holiday.

The director Judd Apatow wrote, "This is so messed up that it is nearly hard to believe".

Mark and Michelle are represented by the same agency - William Morris Endeavor - and there's been criticism that WME should have given Michelle a heads-up that Mark was getting paid, and paid a lot.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is investigating claims Michelle Williams was paid significantly less than a male co-star.

This would contradict director Ridley Scott's remarks to USA Today in December that "everyone did it for nothing".

The pay gap issue has proved its severity in the Forbes' World's Highest-Paid Actors list where the top 10 actors raked in nearly $500 million a year ago while the top 10 women managed only about a third. I had to break the news to my family and tell them I wasn't going be home [for the holidays] and make alternate arrangements for them. The ceremony was fashioned into a showcase for Time's Up, a new initiative started to gender inequality and sexual harassment in Hollywood and other industries. "But everyone was so supportive, no one more than my 12-year-old daughter, who said, "You worked so hard on this". If anything, it fuels it, she said.

Scott, producer-financier of Imperative Entertainment and distributor Sony Pictures, and WME have not commented on the matter.

"It further shows the reason why these kinds of movements are needed to bring attention to the injustices and the disparities that exist between the genders, the staggering pay gap that exists across every business discipline", she said.
