Trump postpones his 'fake news' awards

At a time when he's in open warfare with Steve Bannon, when he's under fire for telling Kim Jong-un that he has a bigger nuclear button, the former reality show star is going to turn the tables on an industry that honors good journalism with Pulitzers and Emmys. The president initially said he would be announcing the accolades this Monday, and didn't give a reason for the change. He added that the victor of such an award should get a "fake news trophy".

On January 2, the USA president tweeted to say he would be announcing "the most dishonest and corrupt media awards of the year".

The White House hasn't given much indication if the awards will actually happen. Trump has been quite open and offensive about leading American media outlets including names like CNN, ABC News, The New York Times and the Washington Post. Maybe-maybe-there was a chance that we would, for at least a couple minutes, stop paying attention to Donald Trump.

At the bottom of the ad it reads: "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is so fake even this ad isn't real".

I don't think this wins the president a single vote or advances his agenda a single inch.

"We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me)". Guess the president doesn't want to be overshadowed by the Golden Globes.

Trump, however, termed it as "fake book", reported local media.
