Jio slashes monthly tariffs by Rs 50, hikes data limit

Reliance Jio is beginning the New Year by slashing the prices of some of its packs and adding more 4G data to others. Previously, the same plan used to provide 49GB data for 49 days.

Reliance Jio Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan:Jio's Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan offers unlimited and free high speed data of 56GBs for a period of 28 days. Airtel's Rs 199 plan incorporates 100 SMS for daily too. Along with that, you can enjoy unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMS per day, just like before. The users of Reliance Jio can grab the offers for this Sankranthi. The same service will now - after the plans get updated - post-Jan 9 - be available at Rs 50 cheaper price of Rs 449.

With the recharge of Rs. 498, users get 1.5GB data per day for 91 days, bringing the total to 136GB.

Additionally, Jio has also introduced a couple of 1.5 GB/day packs.

Jio has also reduced the 1 GB data rate to Rs. 4 for a 1-day validity plan. Previous similar priced offering included 70GB data with a validity of 70 days, resulting in 12GB more data and 12 days extra validity. In the past, Airtel 509 plan offered 84GB data for 84 days.

Airtel Rs. 349 prepaid recharge offerAirtel's Rs. 349 prepaid recharge plan offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 2 GB data per day for a validity period of 28 days.

-Rs 198: Under this plan, Jio now offers 28GB of 4G data for 28days, but post-Jan 9 - after Jio updates the plans - the plan will offer 42GB of data for the same duration - 28 days. After the revision, consumers will get 126GB data with a daily FUP limit of 1.5GB of data for the same duration of 84 days.

Apart from the change in the data part, other benefits will remain the same.

All Jio plans will continue to offer free unlimited calling and SMSes within India even during roaming.
