Acer launches a new Chromebook 11 with USB-C

The new Acer Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT / CB311-8H) offers an 11.6-inch display in a portable and fanless design, so it's great for consumers and families who will move the device around or use in shared spaces. CES 2018 could be a good time for Samsung to announce its rumoured Chromebook. "Chromebooks are widely known as a fast, easy and secure way to work and play both online and offline". Called HP Chromebook 11 G6 and Chromebook 14 G5, the new models are said to cater to the education and enterprise markets. Making this an Android app-ready Chromebook from launch. Of course with Android apps now standard on new Chromebooks (including this one), the touch version may be better for some applications.

10 hours of battery life and Google Play support make this a great budget laptop.

As reported by CNET, the HP Chromebook 14 G5 is aimed for corporate sector while the Chromebook 11 G6 is targeted at students.

The options to choose the specs are limited to just the processor and RAM capacity, other specs are as they are such as Intel HD Graphics 500, which comes integrated into both the Chromebooks. The Chromebook 11 G6 will come with a USB Type-C port. Plus, customers can use the MicroSD card reader to access and transfer content. While on the Chromebook 14 G5, the ports have been shifted to the upper corners. The high-dynamic range (HDR) camera produces clear and brighter photos as well as video for Google Hangouts and webchats. The whole thing is 0.71-inches thick and weighs 2.43 pounds. Acer's previous Chromebooks have been some of the most popular laptops in recent sales events like Black Friday and Amazon's Prime Day, invariably selling out more quickly than their Windows 10 counterparts. In terms of availability, the new Chromebook 11 is due to firstly become available in EMEA, starting from March, and priced as low as €249.
