The National Weather Service in Grand Forks is reporting that Hazardous wind chills are expected today through Monday morning (a long duration).

High pressure will continue sinking south from Canada Friday night, producing overnight lows between -20 and -30 degrees.

Wind chill advisories and warnings have been issued for the area. High temperatures drop to the teens and single digits, with low temperatures well below zero!

Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping to the negative upper 20s south to the negative lower 30s north.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny. Wind: N 10-15; gusty.

New Year's Day is expected to be sunny with a high near 1. That wind chill advisory will return on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. for your New Year's Eve and will remain in effect through Noon on Tuesday. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a high around 16 and a low around 0.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Wind: NE 10-15; gusty. Gusty winds have wind chill values running below zero. Be sure to dress warmly and have a winter travel kit in your vehicle if you plan to be out and about. Temperatures will fall to near 12 by morning as northerly winds increase, producing wind chills near zero by 7 AM Saturday.

Southern Wisconsin clipped with another round of light snow and flurries this afternoon.
