LG introduces Chromecast soundbar and Google Assistant smart speaker

Recently, LG has announced its new AI powered brand, ThinQ.

The device has come the Meridian Audio technology which can play High resolution audio and high quality sound. The standout feature of this speaker, however, is the support for Chromecast that will allow it to connect with a whole range of supported devices and also follow the usual Google voice commands such as "OK Google". The smart speaker will be unveiled at The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018.

South Korean tech major LG Electronics has announced that it is adding a new smart speaker named "ThinQ" to its 2018 line-up, which will be powered by Google Assistant. Among this new line of new devices is the Chromecast-enabled Dolby Atmos soundbar, a smart speaker with Google Assistant built in, and a few portable Bluetooth speakers.

It will also act as a personalized voice-activated interface for LG's smart home appliances. All the new additions will have the Meridian Audio technology to power up the audio output. The LG ThinQ Speaker is powered by Google Assistant. While the smart speaker bandwagon has almost reached full capacity up until now, LG will be shoving into an already crowded segment, but promises to offer something unique and helpful to its customers.

The device is cylindrical shaped and also has LED lights.

We will also be seeing all-in-one party machines from LG soon, for karaoke parties offering lighting effects as well. There haven't been any details in terms of pricing and availability just yet, but we can expect the company to reveal all when the official launch happens during CES, which starts January 9.
