Nebraska man captured in Tennessee after allegedly killing parents, niece, cops say

Dalton Sr., 70, his wife, Jean Dalton, 65, and Leonna Dalton-Phillip, 18, all died in the shooting Tuesday night.

Authorities say they have located an Omaha man suspected of killing his parents and a niece. He says his daughter's vehicle was still running when authorities arrived, and that her sister ran to a neighbor's house saying: "They shot my family". The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to the television station that Dalton Jr. had been apprehended but had not released any further details. He was paroled in 2010.

A first-degree murder warrant had been issued for Dalton Jr. on Tuesday night.

He made a deal with prosecutors and was imprisoned in late 1999, after pleading guilty to manslaughter and other crimes. Dalton Sr. and Jean Dalton were Dalton Jr.'s parents and Leonna was Dalton Jr.'s niece, according to Omaha police.

Officers called to a home at 3912 N 37th just after 8 pm found three victims dead at the scene.

Investigators said the shooting happened Tuesday evening, but they have offered no possible motive. Dalton Jr. was initially identified as a person of interest in the case.

Police are still in the process of notifying the victims' next of kin.
