People are celebrating Christmas together at Christmas Eve Church Services

Church pastor David De Carvalho said the first Christmas celebrated at the church was in 1820. People across the country are eagerly looking forward to the Christmas parties, midnight masses, meals and celebrations. Rose Catholic Church, 8th and Quindaro Boulevard, Kansas City, Kansas, has scheduled Sunday Mass at 11 a.m. December 24; and Christmas Eve Mass at 7 p.m. December 24, preceded by songs before Mass at 6:30 p.m.

First Religious Society, Unitarian Universalist, 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport, presents "The Still of the Morning" on Christmas Eve at 10:30 a.m.

Star of the Sea Parish, 18 Beach Road, Salisbury, Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m.at Beach Chapel with satellite parking and a shuttle bus available at the town church beginning at 3 p.m.

St. Paul's Church, 166 High St., Newburyport, Fourth Advent: Sunday, Dec. 24, 9 a.m.

-- Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 2430 Neola St., Cedar Falls; candlelight service at 6 p.m.

-- Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1301 Kimball Ave., Waterloo; services at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The service will include songs and a short message.

5 and 7 p.m.

-- Nazareth Lutheran Church, 7401 University Ave., Cedar Falls; services at 3 p.m. 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The Grace Presbyterian church will not be having a Christmas day service to let families celebrate together at home.

Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., Kansas City, Kansas, has scheduled worship services at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

-- Prairie Lakes Church, 1907 Viking Road, Cedar Falls; services 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
