PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Will Run at 30FPS on All Xbox One Consoles

In an interview with gamesTM magazine, Director Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene shared that the game would "definitely" hit 60FPS on the freshly released Xbox One X, but he was still "not sure if we'll get there" on the older console. There's some sad news for those of you hoping that your Xbox One X will be put to good use when playing PUBG though, as that extra power isn't necessarily going to translate to a higher frame rate. They'll certainly be keen on trying, though.

After reports surfaced that PUBG would run at 60 FPS on the Xbox One X, Greene set the record straight on Twitter, saying it will actually run at 30 FPS on all Xbox systems, including the Xbox One X. Drats! We've known about PUBG's console release since E3 2017, when Microsoft announced that it would first land on its Xbox One family of machines. He says last time he checked it ran at 30-40 FPS and they are continuing to improve it.

The news came in a tweet posted today, though Brendan also emphasised that the game is constantly being refined, and that options are being explored to increase the framerate.

In any case, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is likely to sell like hotcakes - it just won't be as hot as it could have been on Xbox One X. Especially considering that 4K textures won't be coming to the PC or Xbox One X versions any time soon either.

"We want to get those 4K textures in there, but we still have to make them".

The mobile version of PUBG will launch in China first and so far no outlet is confirming that the game will launch in other parts of the world, but it will be insane not to capitalize on the PC game's wild popularity.
