Destiny 2 free trial available ahead of Curse of Osiris release

Destiny 2 is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This is particularly notable because, once you reach level 20, you begin earning Bright Engrams each time you fill your XP bar.

According to Destiny 2's website, the free trial will give you access to two worlds - the European Dead Zone and the moon of Titan.

The XP scaling system would actively reduce how much each XP point was worth on your experience bar. What's better is you can take that progress with you if you end up buying the full game. Bungie has "seen community discussion" surrounding this system and after reviewing its data, the developer will be switching this system off. Bringing it down to the point where you are only getting four percent of the XP you should be getting. "After reviewing our data, we agree that the system is not performing the way we'd like it to", it stated.

For example, the amount of experience points would scale up when playing Crucible competitive matches or the Leviathan Raid, which it said were "longer or fixed duration activities". We are not happy with the results, and we've heard the same from the community.

Smith tweeted that the "systems side" of next month's update includes changes to the economy, which covers the game's many vendors; a new reward system for weapons and armor; and overall gameplay updates. "Effective immediately, we are deactivating this system", read the post.

With Destiny 2's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, releasing December 5th Bungie better do something special next week in addressing this and the other game issues.

Bungie has found itself under fire in recent days after the discovery of a previously undisclosed XP scaling system in Destiny 2, which constrained XP gain in some situations.
