A RUSSIAN fighter jet buzzed a USA aircraft flying over the Black Sea, causing it to roll and suffer violent turbulence during the harrowing mid-air confrontation. It is reported that the incident lasted for around 24 minutes. The radioelectronic defense units identified in a neutral zone an objective moving at great speed toward the country's borders, making it necessary to send a fighter SU-30 to the zone, explained sources of the Military District of the South.

This caused "a 15-degree roll and violent turbulence" and the "interaction was determined to be unsafe", the military said.

U.S. Navy flight pilots are seen aboard the Boeing P-8A Poseidon plane before its departure to take part in the search for the ARA San Juan submarine missing at sea, at a military air base in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, November 26.

Russian jet Su-30 crossed a front side of the P-8A Poseidon plane of the United States flying as near as 50 feet turning its afterburners on, according to a Pentagon spokeswoman, U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Michelle Baldanza.

This isn't the first hairy encounter between US and Russian aircrafts.

"The Russian military is within its right to exercise within global airspace, but they must respect worldwide standards set to ensure safety and prevent incidents", Baldanza said.

US and Russian aircraft often have encounters in the region, some of which the United States has slammed as unsafe and/or unprofessional.

"Unsafe actions have the potential to cause serious harm and injury to all air crews involved", Baldanza told the outlet.

"The Russian fighter approached the air target and identified it as a U.S. reconnaissance plane P-8A Poseidon".
