Tiger Woods says lack of back pain 'just remarkable' ahead of return

While 17 of the 18 players in the field will be ranked inside the top 50 in the world rankings, Woods, who is ranked No. 1,199, will be appearing for the first time in a tournament since February 3 or almost 10 months, following a fourth surgery on his back.

"The fact that I don't have any pain in my lower back anymore compared to what I was living with for years... it's just remarkable", Woods is quoted by ESPN.

"I'm looking forward to competing again and trying to find the rhythm and feel of tournament golf".

Just a couple of weeks ago Rickie Fowler said that Tiger was "hitting it way by me", and now Faxon has given further credence to such claims: "I was impressed with how far he hit the ball", Faxon said.

"That morning, Trump tweeted that he was going to be playing with Johnson and Woods", Faxon wrote.

Woods added that the recovery process from April's surgery, his fourth procedure on his back, has been slow, but he's been encouraged by how his body has responded.

"I haven't really competed in two years, really", Woods said ahead of his first start since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic after round one in February.

Other notable pairings at the Hero include World No. 1 Dustin Johnson with U.S. Open victor Brooks Koepka, an Open Championship rematch between Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar, and Race to Dubai victor Tommy Fleetwood playing with Justin Rose.

"[At first] I just chipped [driver]". Faxon said Tiger looked great and was happy on the course, since he says he is finally pain free. "It could be the next step, I just didn't know [when the pain would occur]". And it's been a struggle for years. Whether it was hard and fast, to hold it up into the wind, or soft, or going at it a little steeper in the bunkers. As the news began to circulate that Woods would join Trump for several rounds of golf; Jordan Peele saw the flawless opportunity to reference his hit film, Get Out. I am stiffer, I'm fused.
