How Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle

The two proved their love in an interview with the BBC, with Markle revealing she said "yes" immediately to Prince Harry as he got down on one knee to propose.

She founded a lifestyle blog called The Tig in 2014, and attracted a robust following with posts about political and social issues, food, and travel.

Markle said she had met Queen Elizabeth, who she said was an incredible woman. "It's incredible. obviously not being able to meet his mum, it's so important to me to know that she's a part of this with us", Markle said, turning to Harry as she spoke about the ring.

She is older than Harry.

"Prince Harry is anxious about Ms Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her".

And it was an instant "yes" from Ms Markle.

"But you know with the ring and with everything else that's going on I'm sure she's..." "This is not a game - it is her life and his".

That statement said the couple were "a few months into a relationship" and it was "not right" that Ms Markle should receive such treatment.

And for royal watchers, there were certainly plenty of tantalising clues.

Britain's Prince Harry said Monday, November 27 he was "thrilled" to be marrying his American girlfriend Meghan Markle early next year, confirming months of speculation about the one-time playboy royal and the glamorous actress.

Rumours circulated that Markle was preparing to move from Toronto to London.

Harry, on the other hand, donned a dark blue suit as he and Meghan walked the palace grounds holding hands.

Amid a rush of speculative headlines last week, Palace officials remained - unsurprisingly - mum.

The prince said Ms Markle would easily take to the role of being a member of the Royal Family and said they were a "fantastic team".

The smitten couple announced that they would Wednesday earlier today, and shortly afterwards sat down for a chat with BBC journalist Michelle Hussain.

Bookmakers have already started taking wedding related bets, with Westminster Abbey a firm favorite to host the event and fashion label Alexander McQueen favorite to design the dress.

Prior to meeting for drinks Markle admits she didn't know much about the royal family either.

"I did not have any understanding of just what it would be like", she said, saying there was a misconception that because she was an actress she would be used to being in the media spotlight.

"Reflecting on where I came from helps me to appreciate and balance what I have now", she wrote, adding that her hardworking parents emphasised a sense of compassion and responsibility.
