Man Utd boss Mourinho: Fellaini contract talks? I'm anxious

United will not entertain bids in January for Fellaini and Mourinho has revealed he has done all he can to persuade the midfielder to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

JOSE MOURINHO admits he fears Marouane Fellaini will quit Manchester United on a free transfer next summer.

The Belgian midfielder's contract ends in June 2018 and he has not agreed a new deal with Manchester United's board.

Farmer and Smith also described the issues on which the company representing Fellaini is basing his pursuit of damages: "Rosalina Investments says "defective boots" had an "impact" on 30-year-old Fellaini's performance and caused a "loss of enjoyment" and "inconvenience".

Marouane Fellaini of Manchester United celebrates scoring the third goal during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on September 30, 2017 in Manchester, England.

"I respect the player because he has the right, has the right to decide his future, and I respect the board because the decisions and the discussions are under control". He had no interest in signing what was put in front of him earlier this year and, with just over a month left until he can discuss a pre-contract agreement elsewhere, it doesn't feel as if the two parties are nearing a mutually acceptable deal.

"I respect the player because the player has the right to decide his future".

"So I just wait, wishing they will have an understanding but it's out of my control". "But it's out of my control".

Turkish clubs Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasary, as well as Napoli, are understood to have an interest.

And Mourinho insists that the matter is out of his hands now and that it is up to the board to negotiate with the former Everton midfielder over a new deal.
