Jonny Bairstow headbutted Cameron Bancroft outside a nightclub

Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow is under investigation by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after he allegedly "headbutted" Australia opener Cameron Bancroft.
Reports claiming that Bairstow headbutted Australian opener Cameron Bancroft almost a month ago at a Perth bar surfaced at the end of the fourth day's of the Ashes opener at the Gabba. The incident allegedly took place earlier this month at a Perth hotel bar while England were in town for a tour match, reports said.
When then Australian coach Mickey Arthur became aware of that episode several days later Warner was disciplined and ultimately forced to sit out the first two Tests of the Ashes series that followed, as well as being sent to South Africa to briefly join an Australia A tour.
Bancroft was at that stage playing for Western Australia and hadn't yet been chosen for Australia.
Bairstow was apparently sledged by the Australian players, which also invited a send-off from Australia vice-captain David Warner after Bairstow was dismissed for 42.
English players also enjoyed beers in Adelaide and Townsville, where the visitors played their other tour game prior to landing in Brisbane for the first Test.
At the time, Bancroft was not really in serious contention to make the Ashes squad.
A team insider who was at the club told Sportsmail on Sunday: 'Jonny and Cameron were drinking together and Jonny bought him a drink.
"They say Bairstow and Bancroft knocked heads while grappling rugby-style in a non-aggressive manner".
But what will concern England is that the incident, seized upon gleefully by the Australian media, will lead to more accusations of a drinking culture within the team as epitomised by the ugly incident involving Stokes.
But he was one of three England players fined by the European Central Bank in the wake of a night out in Bristol that saw Ben Stokes arrested for alleged assault.
There is no doubt that this incident would never have been seen as being anything wrong had Stokes not rewritten the rules by becoming embroiled in a violent incident at the Mbargo bar after a one-day worldwide in Bristol.
