Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

After a goalless first half at Turf Moor, Alexis Sanchez scored a penalty to win the game deep into stoppage time to wrap up all three points for the Gunners.

This time in the 91st minute, referee Lee Mason decided that James Tarkowski pushed Aaron Ramsey inside the box.

Burnley went even closer to taking a first-half lead when Johann Berg Gudmundsson's shot was pushed on to a post by Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Having won just one of their previous six Premier League away trips, Arsenal appeared set to drop more points on the road after an uninspiring performance in attack.

"The doctor came to see me and said he had to travel back home, he was in the hotel with us".

"It looked a clear penalty".

"In the first half we didn't find our game, they stopped us from playing very well".

Burnley boss Sean Dyche fumed: "There's a lot of me inside that's raging a lot".

"I thought it was highly unlikely the penalty wasn't going to get given, at that stage, I think you can all make your conclusions from that, working backwards", Dyche told reporters.

But Chile forward Sanchez stepped up to seal Arsenal's second successive league win with his fourth club goal of the season.

In the other game of the afternoon, Southampton handed struggling Everton a heavy defeat at Saint Mary's.

The win moves Arsenal back above Tottenham and into the top four, but it could fall 12 points behind leader Manchester City, which plays Huddersfield later on Sunday.

"I can not stand here and defend them, it was an unacceptable performance, the fans will be furious and so am I. It's not good enough", Unsworth said.

Charlie Austin scored two second-half headers, while Dusan Tadic and Steven Davis were also on target to give the home side a 4-1 victory over the Toffees.
