John Wall Set to Miss Time With Injury

Certainly, the injury to Wall is a monumental loss for the Wizards basketball team. He will receive injections in the knee in the hope of reducing inflammation.

The 27-year-old Wall sat out a loss to the Toronto Raptors on November 19 due to knee soreness but played the past two games, including scoring 31 points in Wednesday night's 129-124 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

The team announced Saturday that Wall had an MRI Friday on his left knee.

In 16 games this season, Wall is averaging 20.3 points, 9.2 assists and 3.4 boards in 34.4 minutes a night.

He scored a season-high 31 points and dished out 11 assists in the Wizard's most recent game, a loss to the Hornets Wednesday. The team discovered an injury to his knee that will sideline him for at least two weeks. Not a great time to be losing your best player for two weeks.

After a career year during the 2016-17 National Basketball Association season, Wall's numbers have all slightly decreased except for blocks. "That said, he's our leader". He has 42 career starts including two this season and 35 with the Pelicans during the 2016-17 campaign.

The Wizards will turn to backup point guard Tim Frazier in his absence.

"Next guy has to step up".
