Michael Flynn lawyers cut ties with Trump legal team, report says

Lawyers for former national security adviser Michael Flynn have halted communications with U.S. President Donald Trump's legal team, a potentially critical step in the probe into contacts between Trump's election campaign and Russian Federation, sources familiar with the investigation said on Friday. Sharing of information between a cooperative witness and a person or institution still under investigation is considered unethical.

Why would the lawyers stop sharing information?

Lawyers for Mr. Flynn and Mr. Trump declined to comment.

Flynn is a central figure in the investigation after having played a key role in Trump's campaign, and briefly serving as his first national security advisor. The only reason for the split would be a conflict of interest.

According to sources familiar with the Mueller investigation, prosecutors are interested in Kian's ties with Inovo BV and other lobbying efforts performed by The Flynn Intel Group on behalf of foreign governments that may have yet to be disclosed. According to CNN, he's also reportedly anxious about protecting his son, Michael Flynn Jr., from getting caught up in the probe.

Months later, the company admitted in documents filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) that their work 'could be construed to have principally benefitted the Republic of Turkey'.

The White House has said that neither Mr. Flynn nor other former aides has incriminating information to provide about Mr. Trump.

Former Advisor to Donald trump on matters of national security, Michael Flynn starts cooperation with spectaculorum United States of America with the "Russian intervention" by Robert Muller.

Sekulow reportedly said the development was "not entirely unexpected".

Mr. Flynn is regarded as loyal to Mr. Trump, but he has in recent weeks expressed serious concerns to friends that prosecutors will bring charges against his son, Michael Flynn Jr., who served as his father's chief of staff and was a part of several financial deals involving the elder Mr. Flynn that Mr. Mueller is scrutinizing.
