Quick Hits: Taylor to start at QB in Kansas City

After sitting for the first half of the Buffalo Bills' Week 11 54-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback for the team's Week 12 matchup.

Last week, McDermott benched Taylor in favor of rookie fifth-round pick Nathan Peterman. It's expected that the more experienced Taylor will remain the starter so long as the team is in playoff contention, but if things head further south for the Bills, Peterman could get another look late in the season.

While this seemed like the obvious decision after Peterman threw five first-half interceptions in a 54-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, it also wasn't certain McDermott would make the switch.

Taylor replaced Peterman at halftime and played significantly better, throwing for 158 yards and a touchdown and running for another score.

"He's focused on the Chiefs, he's a pro", McDermott said.

The decision would have been more defensible if the Bills' season was already in the scrap heap, but they are now 5-5 and tied with the Ravens for the second wild-card spot. The team will face the Kansas City Chiefs on the road on Sunday.
